As the weather is (finally) getting better, now is the perfect time to get outside! Lambeth’s Big Shift has opportunities for you to transform your street with a parklet or to help you get on your bike. See below for details.

Community Parklets 

Applications for Community Parklets phase 3 will be open from the 20 May to 30 June.

Parklets are parking space-sized parks placed in the kerbside. They are a space for community growing, a place to get to know your neighbours, an opportunity to take ownership over your streets, or just a spot to rest on your journey. Parklets can be customised by each community to best suit their needs, with successful applicants getting to choose from a catalogue of modular items to fill their parklet.

Business Parklets 

Businesses can now apply to build a parklet in the kerbside outside their premises. Business parklets provide extra space for customers and help improve the street scene for everyone.

Dr Bike 

Experienced mechanics will give your bike a FREE safety check.

• Qualified mechanics check everything on your bike from wheels, brakes, gears, and tyre pressure, to lights, racks, pedals, saddles, and more.

• For anything that can’t be fixed there and then, the mechanic will explain what needs doing and provide an estimated cost to fix at a bike shop.

Cycle Confident Free Cycle Lessons

• Private 1-1 sessions, family sessions, or group sessions.

• From beginner sessions in an off-road environment, to advance sessions dealing with complex junctions.

• Assistance with planning routes to wherever you’d like to go, and then cycling them with an instructor.

Our Bike 

OurBike is a community cargo bike share scheme where you can hire an electric cargo bike by the hour.

• Costs just £3 per hour to rent and can travel up to 50km on a full charge.

• The cargo bikes can carry up to two kids, or all kinds of cargo from furniture to food deliveries.

• Seven bikes located across the borough.
