The majority of traffic during the week is using both Gleneldon Rd and Valley Rd as a rat run to avoid Streatham High Rd. The volume of traffic is far to high and it creates a dangerous situation for the many school children walking to and from the schools in the area. Traffic regularly exceeds the 20 mph speed limit and in addition there have been many accidents and altercations at the mini roundabout at the junction of both roads. Through traffic needs to be blocked with the exception of buses, emergency vehicles and residents.

The aspirations are admirable, but there is not enough consideration of the consequences of these actions, which in the short to medium term will result in an increase in of engine idling and traffic along main routes, in particular Leigham Court Road. As nearly 2000 children are educated here on a daily basis, it seems perverse this busy road is potentially made busier and harmful to students and staff.

There are so many dangerous roads in the area compared to over the South Circular.
