Big Shift - May

Big Shift – May

As the weather is (finally) getting better, now is the perfect time to get outside! Lambeth’s Big Shift has opportunities for you to transform your street with a parklet or to help you get on your bike. See below for details.

Any questions? Contact us at bigshift@lambeth.gov.uk

Community Parklets

Applications for Community Parklets phase 3 will be open from the 20 May to 30 June.

Parklets are parking space-sized parks placed in the kerbside. They are a space for community growing, a place to get to know your neighbours, an opportunity to take ownership over your streets, or just a spot to rest on your journey. Parklets can be customised by each community to best suit their needs, with successful applicants getting to choose from a catalogue of modular items to fill their parklet.

For more information and to apply - Community Parklet Scheme | Lambeth Council

Business Parklets

Businesses can now apply to build a parklet in the kerbside outside their premises. Business parklets provide extra space for customers and help improve the street scene for everyone.

Streatham Wells Stage 1 Monitoring Report Published

We have published the Stage 1 Monitoring Report for the Streatham Wells Low Traffic Neighbourhood.

On 7 March 2024, Lambeth Council announced a suspension of the trial Low Traffic Neighbourhood in Streatham Wells, following concern about public transport impacts and anticipated disruption on the A23 caused by the construction of TfL healthy streets improvement.

The Stage 1 Monitoring Report shows that across the LTN and boundary roads there has been a 2% net reduction in traffic and the number of vehicles breaking the speed limit has fallen by 68% compared to pre-LTN levels.

During the trial, the LTN met the strategic objectives of the Climate Action Plan, Transport Strategy and is in line with the Lambeth 2030 Borough Plan. However, traffic on boundary roads was compounded by significant levels of roadworks by utilities and has had significant impacts on bus services in Streatham.

The Council is working with partners to make changes and investments to improve transport in Streatham. With new bike lanes, enhanced bus priority and many other related schemes, we are making Streatham cleaner, greener, safer and more sustainable.

Big Shift March

Community Parklets

January and February saw the installation of 5 Community Parklets!

Meristem’s team braved the winter weather and installed the first batch of parklets. The parklets will serve as community hubs for residents, who have reached out to let us know how they have brightened the street. The parklets provide spaces for socialising and rest where previously there has been none.

The individual parklets have taken different shapes depending on how the residents want to use them. One group of residents wanted there to be plenty of space so they can bring out their own chairs to socialise in the evenings as they started doing during lockdown.

Another group of residents chose to have their parklet serve as a memorial to a neighbour who had contributed a lot to their community. They chose to honour her memory by applying for the parklet and uniting their neighbours around this new space.

If you and your community would like a parklet on your street you can find out more information on the Big Shift Website.

Cycling support

As spring is just around the corner, why not try out something new and give cycling a go? The Big Shift has several projects to help both experienced and inexperienced cyclists get on their bikes.

Check out what support is available below.

Bike Markets

Bring along your outgrown, unwanted bikes to the market and put them to good use and donate them to a great project.

All donated bikes will be serviced by upCYCLE and checked by a qualified mechanic to ensure they are in good working order. The bikes will then be sold at bike markets run by Peddle My Wheels, with 100% of all sales proceeds going back to upcycle.

Check out the upcoming sessions here.

Big Shift News: January

The Big Shift - January

Happy New Year!

This January we would like to take the time to celebrate all that the Big Shift has achieved in 2023. Most of these projects are ongoing so if you would like to get involved head to the Big Shift website for more information or email bigshift@lambeth.gov.uk if you have a question.

For updates on Big Shift projects, you can follow Lambeth’s social media accounts:

X (Formerly Twitter): @lambeth_Council

Instagram: @lambeth_Council

Facebook: Lambeth Council

Community Fund Parklets

The Big Shift launched the Community Fund Parklet scheme in April 2023. Phase 1 will see the installation of 6 parklets in early 2024 and the phase 2 application window is still open.

Community Fund Parklets allow for residents, schools and charities to apply to have a mini park on their street. These can create spaces for rest and socialising and bring some much-needed greenery to the streets.

Watch this space for exciting updates as they come!

Business Parklets

This year has seen the launch of not one but two parklet schemes for Lambeth! The Business Parklet scheme was launched in December 2023 and is open for applications currently.

Business Parklets differ from Community Fund Parklets in that they can be designed by the business to suit their needs. Individual businesses or groups of businesses can apply to have their own space in the kerbside.

Bike the Borough

The Big Shift and Cycle Confident held a mass bike ride of six primary schools in July 2023. The ride allowed the children from years 5 and 6 to show off their Bikeability skills and cap off the year with a bit of fun!

The students rode from Brockwell Park to Clapham Common and ended with a picnic in the park to celebrate.

The Big Shift and Cycle Confident have begun planning for the 2024 ride and hope to make it even bigger and better than last year!

Car Free Days

The Big Shift held three separate Car Free Day events throughout 2023. These events involved closing the streets to traffic and opening it up to the public.

The first was held across two days by Brixton Business Improvement District (BID) on Atlantic Road, in June, coinciding with the Lambeth Country Show and London Festival of Architecture. The street had music and activities for all ages, businesses spilled into the road and the extra space for pedestrians during the busy festival was welcomed by many.

The Hannen Road Car Free Day happened in early September. The event was run by Station to Station B, A Small Studio and University of Greenwich. Hannan Road had been highlighted located as a key site for flood risk reduction. The Big Shift Car Free Day aimed to reimagine the street by getting ideas and feedback from all road users as to how the space can be redesigned to increase greening and reduce vehicle dominance.

The last Big Shift Car Free Days of the year were held throughout September on Voltaire Road, in conjunction with Clapham BID. The street was shut to traffic from Friday evenings to Sunday evenings for four weekends. Businesses filled the streets and worked together to set up a performance space and seating for the public to sit and enjoy the show.

Community Influencers

September 2023 saw the launch of the second cohort of Community Influencers.

So far, the Influencers have received their bikes and have been braving the weather to have their cycle lessons with Peddle My Wheels. The influencers are brushing up on their skills and learning valuable safety tips about cycling in poor weather and darker conditions. As the weather slowly improves in 2024, they will be gearing up for even longer rides and making the most out of Lambeth cycle infrastructure to test out their skills.

Lambeth Council will be sharing their journeys over on our social media channels, follow along to see how anyone can make cycling part of their lifestyle.

OurBike

OurBike is our e-cargo bike sharing scheme that launched in 2022 and had its first full year in 2023. 2023 saw a switch up of one location but still a total of seven bikes throughout the borough.

In total, throughout 2023, there were 854 trips, the bikes were ridden for 2031 hours and travelled 3181 kilometres!

We also introduced a new introductory offer that gives new resident sign ups 60 minutes free and new business sign ups 180 minutes! Peddle My Wheels offer lessons for beginners, so if you haven’t given it a go, why not sign up in the new year and try something different?

Bike Markets

Bike Markets are run by Peddle My Wheels, they offer affordable, second-hand bikes and are a place to donate unwanted or outgrown cycles.

In 2023, 23 Bike Markets were held in Lambeth and total of 163 bikes were sold and 99 were donated.

Bikes that are donated are often serviced by UpCYCLE, a charity who help children learn cycling and bike maintenance skills. The serviced bikes were then sold at Bike Markets and have made £4379 to date! All of the money goes back to UpCYCLE to help them teach more children valuable cycling skills.

Try Before You Bike

Try Before You Bike is a scheme run by Peddle My Wheels that is designed to help people try out cycling before committing to buying a bike.

In 2023 there were 63 applications to Try Before You Bike!

Dr Bike

Our Dr Bike session provide the public with free information on bike maintenance and offers the opportunity for the public to get their bike fixed for free.

Lambeth saw 62 Dr Bike sessions in 2023 and in total 1147 bikes were serviced!

Your Streets Your Way

2023 saw the second round of Lambeth’s Your Streets Your Way competition. We had 9 new locations and 9 new winners.

Work has started to make the winner’s designs a reality and we are excited to share updates with you as the work progresses. The first location to be completed is Chestnut Road, where a mural celebrating the area’s historical connection to the Great North Wood has been painted by Simon Hills. If you are in the area, check it out!

New dockless bays for rental e-scooters and e-bikes

Lambeth Council is currently installing 191 new dockless bays across the borough for rental e-scooters and e-bikes to reduce pavement clutter.

The expansion will bring the total number to over 240 meaning that most of Lambeth’s residents will be able to reach a bay within a 5-minute walk. Once all the bays are installed, users will be required to park in these locations.

From next month, rental e-scooters will be permitted for use in the south of Lambeth under an ongoing trial scheme by Transport for London that has been operating in the north of Lambeth since July 2021.

This forms part of a commitment in the Kerbside Strategy to expand the coverage of rental e-scooter and e-bike services across the whole borough.

The operators for the e-scooter trial are Dott, Lime and Voi. For rental e-bikes, the operators which provide a service in Lambeth are Tier, Lime and Forest.

Residents who would like to participate in the consultation for the new bays can do so by visiting our consultation page.

This was shared previously in our December Big Shift update. The specific locations for new dockless bays in and around the Streatham Wells LTN area are below:

Big Shift News: December

Lambeth’s Big Shift – December

This December we have a lot of exciting new projects gearing up for the new year and opportunities for residents to get involved in projects they may have missed out on in 2023. If you would like to get involved contact us at bigshift@lambeth.gov.uk for further information.

Business Parklets

The Business Parklet programme gives Lambeth businesses the opportunity to apply to convert a parking space in front of their premises into a parklet.

Parklets can used for outdoor seating for trading, additional outdoor space, greening and much more.

Businesses, private organisations, charities, schools and third sector can apply for a parklet. Individual businesses or groups of businesses may apply together.

How it works:

1. Complete business parklet expression of interest form - which includes submitting rough designs and a neighbourhood support form.

2. Shortlisting process by the Council

3. Apply for table and chairs/ pavement licence (where necessary)

4. Shortlisted businesses provide their detailed designs

5. Traffic order and relevant audits completed by Lambeth Council

6. Build

7. Businesses maintain the parklet through its lifespan and arrange removal when necessary.

Costs payable by the business:

• Supply/leasing of the parklet platform & installation. Parklets can come in various forms, sizes and materials so prices can also vary. Prices can start from £5K and above.

• Items such as planters, barriers and seating

• Maintenance

• Public Liability Insurance

• Apply for a tables and chairs licence (where required)

• Removal/replacement at the end of the parklet’s life

Paid by the council:

• Traffic Order costs

• Road safety audit

• Officer time

• Signs and lines

The opportunity to apply will be open until the 1st of April 2024 with two shortlisting windows on the 12 January and 1 April 2024.

For information on shortlisting criteria and how to apply, visit https://www.lambeth.gov.uk/businessparklets

For any questions please contact bigshift@lambeth.gov.uk

Dockless bays

Lambeth Council is currently installing 191 new dockless bays across the borough for rental e-scooters and e-bikes. Once all the bays are installed, users will be required to park in these bays to enable active travel trips and reduce footway clutter.

View the dockless bay locations here

It will bring the total number to over 240 meaning that most residents will be able to reach a bay within a 5-minute walk. This forms part of a commitment in Lambeth’s Kerbside Strategy  to expand the coverage of rental e-scooter and e-bike services across the whole borough.

By January, rental e-scooters will be permitted for use in the south of Lambeth. They have been available for use in the north of the borough since Lambeth joined a trial scheme run by Transport for London and London Councils in July 2021.

The new bays are being installed through Experimental Traffic Orders. Residents who would like to participate in the consultation for the new bays can do so by visiting our consultation page.

Community Fund Parklets

Applications for Community Fund Parklets are still open!

Parklets provide opportunities for communities to design a space on their road to suit their needs. Parklets can provide spaces to grow your own vegetables, a space for children to play, or whatever you’d like!

To find out more about the application process, visit https://www.lambeth.gov.uk/streets-roads-transport/community-parklet-scheme

Lambeth Bus Days

Lambeth Bus Days continue to be a big success with 50 pupils from local schools taking part last week.

Bus Days are an activity set in partnership with Transport for London's Travel Mentoring Service, the Metropolitan Police Safer Transport Team and the bus company Arriva. Bus Days are designed to give children and young people with special needs (and other vulnerable potential passengers) extra confidence to enable them to travel independently and to make full use of London’s bus network.

The monthly sessions take place on a moving red London double-decker bus and feature scenarios covering personal and road safety. Passengers meet the driver and ticket inspectors and have the chance to practice coping with different type of issues that may come up when taking the bus. The police provide us with a team of about 8 officers for the day, Arriva provide the bus and driver, and we have two Travel Mentors from TfL to lead the sessions, plus the time of the Revenue Protection Inspectors who come on the bus.

Car Free Days

After the success of the Big Shift Car Free Days over 2023, we are looking to extend the opportunity to everyone across the borough.

Businesses, community groups or even a passionate individual can apply to hold a Big Shift Car Free Day in their area.

Car Free Days aim to help reimagine an area away from a space solely dedicated to cars. This could be by allowing businesses to spill out into the road, providing more space for children to play or giving an opportunity to imagine redesigning the road entirely.

If you are interested in a Car Free Day, email bigshift@lambeth.gov.uk to receive an information document about the process.

[UPDATE] Thames Water works on Leigham Court Road are now complete

UPDATE: Thames Water works on Leigham Court Road are now complete and access has been restored to all directions.

Dear residents,

We are writing this update to inform you of emergency works by Thames Water effecting Leigham Court Road.

What is happening?

There is no left turn access to Leigham Court Road from southbound vehicles on the A23. This means cars cannot turn left onto Leigham Court Road.

All properties are still accessible.

Why is this happening?

Thames Water are completing emergency works on Leigham Court Road close to the junction near Streatham Hill Station.

What does this mean for me?

If you live within the blue area of the Streatham Wells LTN map, please continue southbound down the A23 (Streatham High Road) and turn onto Streatham Common North (A214). From here you can access Leigham Court Road from the south.

If you live within the purple area of the Streatham Wells LTN map, your journey remains unaffected.

If you live within the red area of the Streatham Wells LTN map, your journey remains unaffected.

If you live within the yellow area of the Streatham Wells LTN map, your journey remains unaffected.

We’re working with Thames Water to ensure they complete the works as soon as possible.

Conifer Gardens Update and Changes

Dear residents,

We are writing this update to inform you of a change to the Streatham Wells LTN trial design.

What is changing?

Conifer Gardens will be made one-way southbound(this means from Leigham Avenue towards Gracefield Gardens only).

Why is it changing?

The Road Safety Audit highlighted a potential dangerous conflict between road users of the old design.

What does this mean for me?

Changing Conifer Gardensfrom travelling in both directions to one-way, will mean that motor vehicles will no longer be able to enter from Gracefield Gardens. Motor vehicles can only access via Leigham Avenuefrom 23 October 2023.

In the Works Notification Letter on 27 September, we told you about the preparation works for the trial. We would like to assure residents that no additional disruption will be caused from this change. These works will be carried out as planned from 9 to 20 October 2023.

We apologise for the short notice. We assure you that this change was made with safety as our paramount concern.

Car Free Days

Throughout September, Lambeth saw several Car Free Days.

The Hannen Road Big Shift car free day held workshops for residents and visitors to share their views on how they use the space. The closure was made possible by the collaborative efforts of Station to Station Business Improvement District, A Small Studio, Soak Up Lambeth, University of Greenwich and Lambeth’s Big Shift. The goal was to reimagine Hannen Road in a way that works for everyone as it moves to a more sustainable future.

Hannen Road was located as a spot for potential Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) installation. SuDS help improve climate resilience in an area by improving the drainage of rainwater via sustainable means, as opposed to older forms of drainage that rely on outdated systems that are no longer fit for purpose. Hannen Road was located as a potential area as it lies uphill and can therefore collect rainwater as it falls before it flows downhill and causes flooding. The Big Shift car free day served as the first phase of the co-design process. Co-design allows for all parties involved to have their ideas and needs taken into consideration before any plans are drawn up. By using co-design, the Council aims to create a space that works for everyone.

Check out the results of the Hannen Road workshops on A Small Studio’s YouTube channel.

Voltaire Road closed to vehicles for 4 weekends throughout September as part of Big Shift car free days project. Local businesses spilled out into the street and created more spaces for visitors to enjoy. The opening of the space for public use proved to be a positive change as many visitors shared their feedback with the Council.

Finally, National Car Free Day was celebrated on Goding Street. The street was filled with activities for the family and opportunities for people to learn more about active travel.

Car Free Days can take place in many different forms. But ultimately, they each aim to reimagine spaces away from being a place purely for cars. The Big Shift is looking to provide more opportunities for communities and businesses to give Car Free Days a go.

If you or a group you’re part of have an idea for a Car Free Day in Spring / Summer 2024, contact bigshift@lambeth.gov.uk with your thoughts.

Valleyfield Road Communication Update

Within the 'Notice of Temporary Road Works, Streatham Wells LTN - Lines and Signs' letter, it was incorrectly stated that Valleyfield Road would be included within these preparation works. Within this letter, it noted works would be undertaken at:

  • Valleyfield Road junction with Strathdale Road
  • Valleyfield Road No. 45 - 57 and opposite addresses
  • We would like to reiterate that the filter near the junction of Valleyfield Road and Strathdale Road will NOT form part of the upcoming trial of Streatham Wells LTN, and therefore these works will not be undertaken by our contractor, Ringways.

Valleyfield Road was originally suggested as a filter location in the Streatham Wells LTN. However, during the consultation phase of the LTN, we listened to feedback from residents and local businesses, and decided that this filter should be removed from the trial. Instead, we will continue to monitor traffic through the area during the trial and assess if anything further is required.

    This is still the case.

We apologise for the confusion and would like to assure residents that the Valleyfield Road filter will not be implemented during the upcoming trial of Streatham Wells LTN.

Big Shift: Parklets Deadline 28th May

The deadline for applications to the Community Fund Parklets is almost here. If you would like us to consider your application for the first phase of the project, please submit your application here by the 28th of May 2023.

If you are unable to complete your application before the deadline you can still apply. Submit your application as normal and we will add it to the waitlist.

A parklet is an old, transformed parking space created for community use. Parklets create spaces along the kerbside for communities to rest, play and garden. This is in line with Lambeth’s Kerbside Strategy and Climate Action Plan. Parklets are usually installed on residential streets. We will still consider applications for locations on high streets so long as they are not for a business.

This first phase of the programme will deliver 12 parklets.

    Community Influencers

We have a team of brilliant, friendly volunteers who are passionate about getting more people to try cycling as a green and healthy way to travel around Lambeth.

They’re all Lambeth residents, so they know the borough well.

Many of our volunteers didn’t cycle at first. They wanted to, but they didn’t have a bike, didn’t feel confident out on the road or hadn’t even thought about it until we introduced the Community Influencer Programme.

This spring, you’ll be able to meet the Community Influencers at events across the borough. Watch this space for further details soon!

Streatham Wells Proposed LTN Design Survey

From Monday 21st November, we will be asking for peoples’ feedback on our proposals which would stop through traffic, improve air quality, and encourage more walking, cycling, wheeling and scooting. Our vision is to transform local streets, so they have more greenery, are more pleasant and are no longer dominated by cars and vans using them as shortcuts.

    The changes proposed include:

    - Traffic filters to prevent through traffic

    - New trees and plants which will reduce flooding and give shade during extreme heat

    - Cycle parking

    - Space for children to play and people to sit

There will be a survey on this website running for five weeks, until Friday 23rd December. We look forward to hearing your thoughts!

A23 Streatham High Road junction with Gracefield Gardens - pedestrian safety improvements

TfL have decided to proceed with their proposal to improve road safety at the junction of the A23 Streatham High Road and Gracefield Gardens, following a consultation and its subsequent decision process. You can find out more about the proposal here: https://haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/gracefield-gardens, and a summary of the plans are as below:

  • Close Gracefield Gardens to motor traffic at its junction with the High Road, while allowing access for cyclists
  • Remove the loading/disabled bay on the red route section of Gracefield Gardens close to the junction in order to allow smaller vehicles to turn around
  • Remove some trees from the central reservation on Streatham High Road - these would be replaced with additional tree planting nearby and improvements to the urban realm at the junction of Gracefield Gardens and the A23
  • Adjust the location of bus stop OA on Streatham High Road, moving it five metres to the south
  • You can read the consultation report here.

New crossing - Mount Nod Road, Leigham Avenue and Leigham Court Road junction

Later this month, we are installing a new walking and cycle crossing on Leigham Court Road, at the junction with Mount Nod Road & Leigham Avenue. The crossing is a key part of Lambeth’s Healthy Route Network linking Streatham to Brockwell Park and beyond. In order to improve this location for walking and cycling, we will be installing:

  • A new dedicated walking and cycling crossing facility (parallel zebra) on Leigham Court Road. The crossing will be particularly beneficial for pupils and parents of both Dunraven schools
  • The introduction of a ‘raised table’ (a raised section of the road at the crossing point). This will reduce traffic speeds on the approach to the new crossing, making it safer
  • Additional traffic calming on Leigham Court Road to reduce speeds as part of our road danger reduction programme
  • The Healthy Route connects Lambeth to neighbouring Southwark using mainly quiet residential streets. Phase 1 of the project is underway, with some walking and cycling improvements already in place on Norwood and Rosendale Road. Phase 2 will see further improvements, to enable more people to walk and cycle safely.

    Location :

Mount Nod Road x Leigham Court Road x Leigham Avenue Junction

    Description :

Parallel Zebra : A new dedicated crossing facility with segregated walking and cycling provision

Raised Table : Raising carriageway level to zebra crossing level

Banned Right Turn : For drivers exiting Mount Nod Road onto Leigham Court Road

Works will commence from 7.30am Monday 28th February for 11 weeks.

To facilitate these works safely, our contractor Ringway will need to put the following traffic management measures in place for the duration of the works.

  • Mount Nod Road will be closed at the junction with Leigham Court Road, a signed diversion will be installed via Mountearl Gardens. Temporary double yellow lines will be in place to assist with vehicle turning and passing movements.
  • Leigham Avenue will be closed at the junction with Leigham Court Road, a signed diversion will be installed via Conifer Gardens and Culverhouse Gardens.
  • Conifer Gardens priority will be changed from two-way to one-way (southbound only), as it will not be possible to exit onto Leigham Court Road via Leigham Avenue with the closure in place. The one-way will operate along the entire stretch of Conifer Gardens and will help traffic flow coming from Leigham Avenue.
  • 2-way temporary traffic signals, including pedestrian facilities to cross Leigham Court Road safely, will be installed at the junction on Leigham Court Road.
  • At the end of the allotted works period, the junction will be closed completely overnight for 3 consecutive nights to carry out carriageway surfacing works and road marking works. We will be sending a follow-up letter to inform you of the exact dates that these works will take place.

It is expected that all works for this scheme will be completed within 12 weeks, provided there are no unforeseen circumstances or weather conditions that delay or prevent works taking place.

If you wish to contact Lambeth Council for any other matters relating to the works being undertaken, please contact Highways on 020 7926 9000, or email Lambeth.schemes@ringway.co.uk

TfL consultation on A23 Streatham High Road

Transport for London (TfL) are consulting on proposals to relocate a signalised pedestrian crossing on the A23 Streatham High Road (part of the Transport for London Road Network) from the junction with Woodburne Avenue to the junction with Gracefield Gardens. TfL are proposing this as observations have shown many pedestrians wish to cross the road at this point and have been doing so informally, which has led to a higher number of accidents. TfL believe that many people wish to cross the High Road at this point as they want to access the bus stops, local shops and the large health centre in Gracefield Gardens.

In order to do this safely TfL would need to:

  • Close Gracefield Gardens to motor traffic at its junction with the High Road, whilst allowing access for cyclists.
  • Remove the loading/disabled bay on the red route section of Gracefield Gardens close to the junction in order to allow smaller vehicles to turn around.
  • Remove some trees from the central reservation on Streatham High Road - these would be replaced with additional tree planting nearby and improvements to the urban realm at the junction of Gracefield Gardens and the A23.
  • Adjust the location of bus stop OA on Streatham High Road, moving it 5 metres to the south
  • Have your say

TfL would like to hear your views before they further develop this scheme. You can view all the details of the proposals - including a map, Equality Impact Assessment and FAQs - and complete TfL's online survey, by visiting https://haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/gracefield-gardens

You will need to register with your email address in order to complete the survey; your data will be kept securely and only used, with your permission, to send you updates on the proposals. Alternatively you can send your views by email to haveyoursay@tfl.gov.uk or by letter to FREEPOST TFL HAVE YOUR SAY (no stamp required).

Please share your views with TfL by 27 January 2022 .

If you have any questions, would like a printed copy of the consultation material, or for the information to be provided in an alternative format such as large print or a different language please email haveyoursay@tfl.gov.uk

    Update 13/12/2021

This is an update from the Low Traffic Neighbourhood team at Lambeth Council.

The initial response to our launch of the Commonplace has resulted in plenty of feedback from the community and will be analysed extensively to identify issues in and around the Streatham Wells area.

We have also started meeting with key stakeholders, including group representatives and councillors, who have provided further valuable insight into transport and public realm considerations in the area.

Lamppost posters have been installed around Streatham Wells to promote the Commonplace. We would encourage you to spread the word and encourage further feedback! Given that Streatham Wells and Streatham Hill are close in proximity, we’d love to hear your thoughts on the existing LTN in Streatham Hill via our survey .

The consultation is open until 11.59pm Sunday 19th December.
